The purpose of this course is to explain the role, characteristics, and skills of a supervisor in relation to good practice. This course meets the eight hours of supervision content required by the QABA for QASP certification.

PECS is designed to teach functional communication is implemented in a variety of settings (home, school, community) so users have the skills to communicate their wants and needs. PECS does not require complex or expensive materials since it uses picture symbols as the modality. PECS is a method to teach young children a way of communicating within a social context. Research has shown that many preschoolers using PECS also begin developing speech.
As a result of completion of this course, the participant will be able to: • Demonstrate an understanding of the supervision environment and the building blocks to creating a successful one. • Understand, and complete forms of supervision. • Explain key points for negotiating a written contract for professional supervision.

People spend their day transitioning from one activity to another with little or no thought as to how they do it or consider the process involved. Whatever the setting, school, work, home, we largely complete these transitions naturally and without consequence. While natural to most people, individuals with Autism can have difficulty in changing between activities and coping with changes to their schedule or environment. This "quick" course will provide you with tools to help people with Autism.
As a result of completion of this course, the participant will be able to: • Recall the most common types of supervision, and the advantages and disadvantages of each.

This program meets the ABA Technician Credential coursework requirements and will prepare candidates with a strong basic foundation in the basic concepts and principles of applied behavior analysis within the context of Autism treatment. This course is intended for workforce development to address an immediate broad service need. This course provides the foundation for the next steps in advanced education and training in ABA and Autism.

Is there a difference between Asperger's syndrome and High-Functioning Autism (HFA)? This question continues to challenge those who work in the sector and is debated at all levels. Generally, the two terms are used almost interchangeably. In part, we may be able to determine the answer to the question by looking at the reasoning behind how the terms came to exist. This course will look at the differences between Asperger's and HFA.
